Falken is a Japanese tyre brand founded in 1983 by The Ohtsu Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd. It is part of the Sumitomo Rubber Industries group, positioned as the sixth largest tyre manufacturer in the world in terms of revenue.
Falken offers a wide range of tyres suitable for different seasons and vehicle types, including summer, winter, all-season, and SUV tyres. It has been selected as an original equipment supplier by several well-known car manufacturers such as Subaru, Suzuki, Daihatsu, Mazda, Volkswagen, Honda, and Mercedes. For example, the Mazda CX-9 SUV, the Volkswagen Up, Polo, and Passat models, the Honda HR-V, and Mercedes’s latest G-Class model, introduced in 2018, are all fitted with Falken tyres. Similarly, the second-generation Audi Q3, launched in autumn 2018, is equipped with Falken tyres as original equipment.
Falken is also recognised for its technological innovations in the tyre sector. Among the technologies developed by the company are run-flat technology, advanced 4D-Nano Design technology, the NEO-T01 production process, Gyroblade, Silent Core, and CORESEAL technology, which prevents tyre pressure loss caused by punctures. Other innovations include microscopic analysis technology, SENSING CORE, and the tyre’s internal power generation technology, as well as EV design.
